Mariupol Mayor Adviser Petro Andryushchenko shared the update in his Telegram channel.
"Russian forces announced the extension of the school year to September 1, without a summer break. The main goal is de-Ukrainization and preparing for the school year in the Russian program. All summer children will study Russian language and literature, Russian history and also math in Russian," the adviser wrote.
Russian forces plan to open 9 schools in Mariupol.
"However, they could find only 53 teachers. 6 teachers in one school is a clear illustration of the Russian education in occupied Mariupol," he said.
