Russian forces destroy villages, incur high death toll, to cross Luhansk region administrative border - Gaidai

Luhansk regional military administration head, Sergiy Gaidai, shared the update in his Telegram channel.

"In order to reach the administrative border of Luhansk region, Russian forces are destroying the surrounding villages with artillery. They are not stopped even by the fact that there are civilians who are dying in their houses and yards. They did not stop firing on Bilogorivka and Zolotarivka from all types of heavy weapons. They use barrel and rocket artillery. They hit houses, every building that seems to them a possible fortification. In order to advance, they do not count personal losses and do not feel sorry for the residents of the region," he emphasized.

The situation is similar in the cities and villages of Donetsk region, located near the border with Luhansk region. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are on the defensive.

"There was a lot of talk that Russian forces surrounded us in Lysychansk, propaganda mouthpieces even talked about several cauldrons. I would like to emphasize that our troops withdrew centrally from Lysychansk. Even those fighters who covered the retreat inflicted significant losses on Russian forces," noted the military head.
