"To date, more than 350 high-rise buildings have been demolished in the city, and it has been planned to demolish 953 buildings by the end of the year. And the occupying Russian forces have built up to 35 high-rise buildings of different storeys, not all of which have been put into operation yet. There are about 15 inhabited buildings, including five-story buildings and several nine-story buildings," said the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol.
Petro Andriushchenko gave an example from the Cheremushki neighborhood of Prymorsky district, where 26 houses out of a total of 29 were demolished and 10 new were built, 7 of them nine-story buildings.
"More than a few hundred houses have been demolished, but the occupying Russian authorities do not even reach 100 in the number of houses built. The pace of construction in the city has slowed down for now. More than 40% of the houses cannot be restored, there are still houses that need to be inspected, but in general, about 60% should be demolished," Andriushchenko said.
