Russian forces continue to attack, pushing through Ukrainian defense in some areas
Roman Kostenko, Ukrainian MP and Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, says that the Russian troops, suffering heavy losses, don't stop and try to press with their manpower
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The enemy continues to constantly attack in the east, not only Bakhmut, but also Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar. Russian troops are now using less equipment, mainly their manpower, which is crushing with its mass. Nevertheless, the enemy, suffering heavy losses, does not stop there, but in some areas, meter by meter, is pushing through our defense, again, at the expense of heavy losses. The Russians have a significant mobilization resource, so they do not pay attention to people. I think the enemy is keeping the equipment for the spring offensive, which will begin when the weather becomes more predictable, and then Russian troops will also bring in equipment. It will be more difficult, but now the main thing is to hold on,” the Ukrainian colonel said.
Roman Kostenko noted that Ukrainian commanders see everything perfectly well, and soon it will be time to make a decision: either we stay at the same lines and conduct a counteroffensive, or we retreat to other lines and continue the defense.
