Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces names AFU’s main task in Bakhmut direction
In the Bakhmut sector, the priority goal of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is to deplete the Russian troops and inflict heavy losses on them
This was reported by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram.
"Today, our main task is to deplete Russia's superior forces and inflict its heavy losses. This will create the necessary conditions that will facilitate the liberation of Ukrainian land and accelerate Ukraine’s victory," noted Syrskyi.
According to the commander, the Russian forces are trying to concentrate their main efforts on the Bakhmut direction. They are not giving up their attempts to surround and capture the city.
"When the enemy is outnumbered, it is a matter of honor for me to stand side by side with my soldiers. Thanks to the heroism and professionalism of Ukraine's military, skillful and coordinated actions, effective use of maneuver and weapons capabilities, Ukraine is holding the Bakhmut fortress despite various deadlines and forecasts," added Syrskyi.
According to the military, "a successful strategy always lies in the ability to turn any situation to your advantage."

Major Rodion Kudriashov, deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade, noted that Russia does not give up its intention to capture Bakhmut. The city and logistics routes are under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The situation in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, remains consistently difficult. The Russian army is suffering huge losses, but continues to conduct offensive actions.
