Russian forces completely occupy Severodonetsk - military head Stryuk

Severodonetsk military administration head Oleksandr Stryuk shared the update during a telemarathon.

"The city is completely under Russian occupation. They are trying to restore order there. A 'commandant' has been appointed to collect some assets. The city is so destroyed that it will be difficult for people to cope with this situation. We hope that the city will return to Ukrainian control as soon as possible," said Stryuk.

He stated that Severodonetsk residents can leave the city only in the direction of Russia. Ukraine will facilitate the return of people to the territory controlled by Ukraine, it is currently impossible to do so.  Civilians who have been in shelters on the territory of Azot plant for almost three months partially leave it.

"They are partially leaving the territory of Azot. They are making propaganda videos with them. But you know, people have lived for almost three months in shelters, basements. It's quite difficult for them psychologically. Now they need medical and psychological help."
