According to the information available to the General Staff, in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, employees of "military commissariats" began collecting data on citizens born in 2006 to register them for military service.
Due to the high efficiency of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Starobilsk, Luhansk region, the invaders have strengthened administrative and counterintelligence regimes.
"Occupants are checking mobile phones of local residents. Particular attention is paid to people who have subscriber numbers of Ukrainian telecom operators in their lists," the General Staff reported.
In Kakhovka, Kherson region, Russian forces are trying to ban the circulation of Ukrainian national currency.
"The invaders are trying to ban the circulation of the Ukrainian hryvnia, raid retail outlets and threaten to seize not only cash but also goods if Ukrainian money is found," says the report.
Ukrainian defenders shoot down Russian Su-25 and Mi-8 helicopters
Aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched 15 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations, and 3 strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. In particular, on January 5, the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft and an Mi-8 helicopter.

It is trying to improve the tactical situation in the Kupyansk and Avdiivka directions. But the AFU General Staff stated that Russian troops had no success.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region and 3 of the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, 4 settlements of the Luhansk region came under fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops fired at 18 settlements of the region.
In the Avdiivka direction, 6 settlements of the Donetsk region were hit by Russian forces.
In the Vuhledar direction, 3 settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 3 settlements of the Donetsk region, 9 of the Zaporizhzhia region, and 1 of the Dnipropetrovsk region came under Russian fire.
In the Kherson direction, the civilian infrastructure of Kherson, Chornobaivka and Tokarivka was damaged by artillery shelling.
