Russian forces attack Zaporizhzhia, killing at least three civilians
On the evening of August 9, Russian forces hit a residential area in Zaporizhzhia, at least three people were killed and seven injured
The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration Yuriy Malashko reported the information.
“Currently, three dead civilians are known, medics are assisting the wounded. The blast wave from the attack blew out windows in high-rise buildings,” Yuriy Malashko said on Telegram.
He added that a temple and shops in the Shevchenkiv district were destroyed with "high-precision" weapons.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the attack on Zaporizhzhia in his Telegram channel.
“Zaporizhzhia. Another attack by Russian terrorists. As of now, three people have been reported dead. My condolences to the families. The rescue operation is underway. All victims will be provided with the necessary assistance. And this war crime of Russia will certainly face its sentence. And the response to Russian terrorists will be on the frontline - thanks to our heroic warriors,” Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, Anatolii Kurtev, the secretary of the city council, reported about the attack on Telegram.
"The enemy has attacked a residential district of Zaporizhzhia. Unfortunately, according to initial information, two people have been killed and several have been wounded. The situation is developing and more information is coming in," he wrote.
