Russian forces attack Sumy region, one person is killed
On Saturday, 5 August, the Russian occupation army shelled the Nova Sloboda community of Sumy region, killing a man

This is reported by Suspilne, citing the words of the head of the Nova Sloboda community Olha Harkavenko.
It is noted that the shelling took place in the afternoon, around 14:30.
According to Harkavenko, a civilian man born in 1960 was killed in his own yard.
- In June, General Serhiy Nayev called on residents of the Sumy region's border area to evacuate. "The enemy with inexplicable persistence terrorises the territory of Sumy region almost every day, not choosing any methods. The Russians are firing from multiple rocket launchers, artillery and conducting air strikes with guided aerial munitions," he said.
- On 10 July, the authorities of Sumy region decided to evacuate people from a five-kilometre zone from the state border of Ukraine.
- On 14 July, Volodymyr Bitsak, deputy head of the Sumy district administration, told Espreso TV that lists of people willing to evacuate from the border communities of the Sumy region due to constant shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation were already being compiled.
