Russian forces accumulate resources, may launch new attack by May – Colonel Selezniov
Vladyslav Selezniov, military expert and colonel with Ukraine's Armed Forces, believes that Ukrainians should be prepared for brazen assaults by Putin's troops in parts of the frontline amid an upcoming counteroffensive
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The Russians are now accumulating resources. This includes resources in the Belgorod region, namely artillery units, including cannon and rocket artillery. They are also accumulating ammunition in huge and incredible quantities, of course, to use it somewhere in Ukraine. The enemy is accumulating armored vehicles in its arsenals and storage bases. In other words, the Russians are accumulating resources to make some not-so-good story related to a new attack at a certain time, most likely closer to the end of April or early May,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces colonel said.
Vladyslav Selezniov noted that such an attack could take place in the Kharkiv region. The enemy may try to increase pressure on the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, but it is not known for sure.
“At the same time, we know that a considerable number of enemy troops have been amassed in the south of the Zaporizhzhia region, particularly in the area of Melitopol. In addition, the Russians have created a large number of engineering fortifications to hold the line. Then the question is: why do they need so many troops? Won't the occupiers try to attack our positions in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and further up the Dnipro River towards the city of Dnipro? So there are risks. As the Ukrainian army prepares for a counteroffensive, we must be on the alert for some bold attacks by Putin's troops in other parts of the front. In four key areas of the front, where fierce fighting is taking place, the Russian army is using mainly mobilized troops, a certain number of airborne units and representatives of private military companies – both Wagner and another recently created one,” said Selezniov.
