The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this.

"The enemy continues to hide its losses. For this purpose, it actively uses mobile crematoria. In particular, it has been established that one of these crematoria is currently operating 24/7 in the northeastern part of the occupied city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, with the bodies of the dead soldiers being transported by flatbed trucks," the statement says.

Locals complain about the constant stench of corpses in Melitopol, especially at night.

Frontline situation

During the day, Russia launched 39 airstrikes, 2 Shahed attack drones (all destroyed) and about 43 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

There were 30 combat engagements during the day.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 25 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

  • In the Kupyansk direction, 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling.

  • In the Lyman direction, 5 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire.

  • In the Bakhmut direction, over 10 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces.

  • In the Avdiivka direction, more than 15 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked.

  • In the Maryinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling.

  • In the Shakhtarsk direction, about 10 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled.

  • In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 35 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive, strikes on Russian troops

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidate their positions, and carry out counter-battery measures," the General Staff writes.

Ukrainian aviation launched 7 strikes on the invading Russian forces' military positions over the day.

Missile and artillery units struck 9 artillery pieces in firing positions and 2 manpower concentration areas over the day.

  • Over the past day of the war, Russia lost 640 soldiers, 27 drones, and 15 armored vehicles. On August 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off the Russian troops more than 40 times at the front.
