Russian attack on Kherson region injures 15 people, including one baby

On Sunday, October 8th, occupying Russian forces launched multiple attacks on populated areas in the Kherson region. This resulted in 15 casualties, including a 9-month-old infant

Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, confirmed these incidents.

Prokudin reported that during the night, Russian forces attacked Kherson and its surrounding settlements, particularly on the right bank. They targeted residential areas.

The consequences of the attack on the night of October 8th in the Kherson region are as follows:

  • A 27-year-old woman and her 9-month-old daughter were hospitalized in moderate condition.

  • A 33-year-old Red Cross medic sustained an explosive injury and contusion, requiring hospitalization.

  • Several Kherson residents experienced acute stress reactions, including a 67-year-old man and his 63-year-old wife, a 56-year-old man and his 54-year-old wife, and two women aged 87 and 62, all of whom were admitted to the hospital.

  • Medical assistance was provided to two men aged 24 and 34 on-site.

Additionally, houses, cars, and gas distribution networks were damaged due to the Russian attack. Unexploded shells were safely handled and disposed of by rescue personnel.

The city of Stanislav also came under fire, with Russian troops using artillery. Investigations are ongoing to assess the extent of the damage caused by this attack.

In addition, the Russian attack damaged houses, cars, and gas distribution networks. Some of the shells did not explode, so they had to be removed by rescuers. The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration released footage of the aftermath of the night attack on Kherson.

"Multi-storey buildings, private houses, cars in the parking lot and under houses, shells sticking out of the ground. This is how the streets of Kherson look right now," he wrote.

In the morning, at about 08:15 am, the Russian military launched an air strike with guided bombs on the Beryslav community, Kherson region. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office. 

As a result of the shelling, a man who was in an apartment was injured. He was hospitalized. 

Also, around 10:40 am, Russian troops fired on a suburban village of Kherson. Three women who were on the street sustained shrapnel wounds. 

Private houses were damaged.

  • Furthermore, the night before, Russian forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on the village of Kostyrka, Kherson region, resulting in an injury to a man.
