Russian army persuades conscripts to sign contracts for war against Ukraine – AFU General Staff
The Russian army continues to take measures to replenish manpower and actively encourages conscripts to sign contracts to participate in the war against Ukraine
This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook.
"The Russian Federation does not abandon the war of aggression, despite the numerous victims," the statement reads.
Thus, in one of the military units in the Krasnodar region, Russia, conscripts are encouraged to sign contracts. Those who agree are expected to be deployed to Ukraine in August 2023.
Ukrainian defenders have been striking Russian personnel concentrations, ammunition depots and anti-aircraft missile systems
"During the day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 5 strikes on Russian personnel concentrations," the General Staff noted.
Ukrainian missile and artillery units also hit a Russian ammunition depot, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, a radar station and another important military object over the day.
Russian troops launch 4 missile and 24 air strikes over the past day and continue to conduct offensive actions in 5 directions
Over the past day, the Russian army launched 4 missile, 24 air strikes, and more than 30 MLRS attacks.
Northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia: during the day, Russian troops shelled 2 settlements in the Chernihiv region, 5 in the Sumy region, and 6 more in the Kharkiv region.
- Kupiansk and Lyman directions: Russian troops fired artillery at 5 settlements in the Kharkiv region, 2 in the Luhansk region, and 3 others in the Donetsk region.
They also launched unsuccessful offensives near Masiutivka, Novoselivske, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske settlements.
- Bakhmut direction: 12 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.
Russian troops also continue to launch offensives and are trying to capture the city, but are losing their offensive potential. Ukrainian defenders continue to repel numerous attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka and in the northern part of Bakhmut.
- Avdiivka, Mariinka and Shakhtarsk directions: 9 settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.
Russian forces also launched unsuccessful offensives near Avdiivka, Mariinka and 4 other settlements.
- Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions: settlements near the contact line came under fire, in particular: 1 settlement in the Donetsk region; 8 in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Antonivka and the city of Kherson.
On March 21, the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that the Ukrainian army had managed to create a "death grid" for the Russian forces, and that Russia cannot conduct counter-battery operations because of Western weapons.
