Russian army loses almost thousand servicemen in 24 hrs - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 14, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about 286,890 (+970) people
• tanks - 4,940 (+9)
• armored combat vehicles - 9,337 (+24)
• artillery systems - 6,833 (+26)

• aircraft - 317 (+1)

About 100 combat clashes took place in the frontline over the last day

In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group, near the border with Belarus, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to dangerous areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled over 20 Russian attacks near 3 settlements in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back Russia's offensive near Makiivka, Luhansk region. Ukrainian defenders repulsed over 5 attacks there.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the invaders, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Russian forces keep their attempts to break through Ukraine's defenses, but to no avail. The Ukrainian army repelled about 20 attacks in the area of 6 localities in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled about 15 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Marinka, Donetsk region, and in the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian troops carried out futile assault operations with the support of aviation near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian invaders unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian forces are waging counter-battery combat, destroying supply depots and successfully hitting Russia's rear.

Ukraine's defense forces continue their offensive in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the Russian enemy.

Russian troops launched 3 attacks on the Ukrainian territory 

In total, the Russian Federation launched 3 missile and 59 air strikes, fired 54 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukraine's troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Air strikes targeted 2 localities in Chernihiv region, 1 in Sumy region, 4 in Kharkiv region, 4 in Luhansk region, 9 in Donetsk region, 1 in Zaporizhzhia region, and 6 in Kherson region.

About 130 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian aviation launched 13 attacks on the invading Russian troops concentration areas

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas of personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration and Russia's bridge. Ukrainian troops also destroyed a Russian Su-25 fighter jet and an Orlan-10 tactical UAV.

Missile troops hit a command post, an area of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, an ammunition depot and a Russian electronic warfare station.

In addition, the General Staff adds that Russia suffers significant losses on the battlefield. Thus, in the last 3 days alone, during the assault operations near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, the occupiers' losses amounted to more than 100 irrecoverable casualties, most of them due to the lack of evacuation from the battlefield, as well as about 200 wounded.

• The day before, on October 13, the Russian army attacked the town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. One person was killed and 24 wounded as a result of the shelling.
