Russian army has no gains in Kupyansk sector in offensive near Synkivka and Ivanivka – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

"During the day, the occupying Russian forces launched 5 missile strikes, 24 air strikes and carried out about 37 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians, including children. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed. The threat of missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high," the General Staff emphasized.

Situation at the front and shelling of Ukrainian territory

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian forces launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 20 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian enemy conducted an unsuccessful offensive in 2 areas in the Kharkiv region; carried out air strikes in the areas of Kyslivka and Pershotravneve in the Kharkiv region. More than 15 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including 6 settlements in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army conducted air strikes near 2 settlements in Luhansk region and 3 settlements in Donetsk region. More than 25 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including 3 settlements in Luhansk region and 3 settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives in 3 areas in the Donetsk region. More than 20 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, being under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive near the town of Marinka in Donetsk region. The Russian enemy launched air strikes in 3 areas of the Donetsk region. Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements with artillery.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian enemy made futile attempts to regain lost ground near Urozhayne in Donetsk region. Russia carried out an air strike near Staromayorske, Donetsk region. As well as 6 settlements came under artillery fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russia conducted air strikes in 2 areas in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 towns and villages were attacked. 

In the Kherson direction, more than 25 settlements came under Russian artillery fire. 

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions and carrying out counter-battery operations. During the day, 25 combat engagements took place," the statement said.

Ukrainian strikes on Russian terrorists

During the day, Ukrainian aviation launched one strike on the area where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Missile troops and artillery units struck the Strela surface-to-air missile system.

Also, 4 reconnaissance UAVs of operational and tactical level were destroyed.

• On Friday, August 11, during an air raid, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles. Explosions were heard, in particular, in the Khmelnytsky region. Air defense systems were operating there.

• In addition, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a Russian missile hit a private house where a family with three children lived. An 8-year-old boy was killed in the attack.
