Russia's missile strike kills 8-year-old boy in Ivano-Frankivsk
On Friday, August 11, Russian occupation forces attacked Ivano-Frankivsk region, hitting a residential building, killing a child.
This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Svitlana Onyshchuk, Espreso reports.
"This morning the enemy launched a missile attack in Prykarpattia. A civilian object was hit. There are victims, including a child who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors did their best, but unfortunately, they could not save the child's life. Our condolences to the family!" Onyshchuk said.
The official also urged not to ignore the air raid alerts.
"Wherever you live, take care of your safety and the safety of your family!" she added.
The Prosecutor General's Office clarified that the invaders attacked a residential building in Ivano-Frankivsk region with aerial ballistic missiles at about 10:00 a.m. today.
"The missile hit the territory of a private house in Kolomyia district, where a family with three children lived. An 8-year-old boy died as a result of the strike. Data on other victims is currently being clarified. The blast wave and wreckage partially destroyed the outbuilding," the statement reads.

Relevant services and an investigative team are currently working at the scene. A pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

Also today, during the air raid, explosions were heard, in particular, in the Khmelnytskyi region. Air defense systems were operating there.
