Russian army deploys amphibious assault troops near Bakhmut
Invading Russian forces are pulling up assault troops to the outskirts of Bakhmut, but despite the intense fighting, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar on Telegram.
“The situation in Bakhmut and its surroundings is currently extremely challenging. Despite the difficulties, our troops have made progress in recent days, thanks to their exceptional capabilities and professionalism,” she said.
According to the message, the Russians remain steadfast in their objectives and have deployed amphibious assault units to the outskirts of Bakhmut.
“Intense battles are ongoing, and the defense of Bakhmut remains a crucial focus,” Maliar emphasized.

On May 13, British intelligence reported that units from the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation had withdrawn from their positions on the southern flank of the Bakhmut direction.

The Ukrainian military is actively engaged in a defensive operation in the Bakhmut area.
