Ukrainian troops continue defensive operations in the Bakhmut sector and move forward in some areas of the frontline
This was stated by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"The defence operation in the Bakhmut sector continues. Our soldiers are moving forward in some areas of the frontline, and the Russian enemy is losing equipment and manpower. Glory to Ukraine and our heroes!" he wrote.

On May 13, British intelligence reported that units of the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation had chaotically withdrawn from their positions on the southern flank of the Bakhmut area.
