Russian army attack on Kherson region kills 6 people, including children

On the morning of Sunday, August 13, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian settlements in the Kherson region. Six people were killed and at least 5 injured as a result

The Head of Ukraine’s Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, reported the information.

According to him, 2 people were killed and 1 wounded as a result of a Russian MLRS attack on the village of Stanislav. The occupants destroyed and damaged 5 private houses. 

In addition, the attack on Shyroka Balka killed 3 adults - 2 men and a woman, as well as a child under the age of 2. The 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital.

Later, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko added that the child killed in Shyroka Balka was only 23 days old. The condition of the injured 12-year-old boy is critical.

According to the Interior Minister, a total of 12 hits were recorded in Stanislav in the morning. Two men were killed there, another woman was injured and is currently receiving medical aid. 

"Terrorists will never stop killing civilians voluntarily. Terrorists must be stopped. They must be stopped by force. They do not understand any other way," emphasized Klymenko.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as of 12:00 pm at least 5 people were injured as a result of the Russian strike in the Kherson region. The attacks on the region continue.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, also provided details about the injured. 

"In the morning, Russian terrorists have been firing at civilian settlements in the region. The enemy is targeting residential buildings and civilian infrastructure," he wrote on Telegram.

According to him, 2 men, 71 and 57 years old, were killed in Stanislav. Another woman was lightly injured. 

In addition, Russia shelled the village of Komyshany, hitting a local store. As a result, a 49-year-old man sustained moderate injuries and a 51-year-old woman sustained light injuries. 

At least 5 residential buildings were damaged by Russian fire in Zolota Balka. A 61-year-old woman sustained light shrapnel wounds and was taken to a medical facility.

  • On Saturday, August 12, the Russian military attacked 9 regions of Ukraine. The attacks resulted in the death of 1 person and 16 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
