Russian aircraft, 'pride of aviation industry', unable to fly without imported spare parts
Aircraft that are the 'pride of the Russian aviation industry' cannot take to the skies without components from Ukraine.
The military portal Defense Express shared the news with reference to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
Russian aircraft of the An, Il, Tu series of different types and purposes lack several dozen names of imported components so that they can fly. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Russian defense leadership and industrial enterprises and the command of the 8th Special Aviation Division intend to start solving this problem through 'import substitution'.
In particular, the most acute problem with components is facing the aircraft type IL-96-400 in VIP-configuration. The liners, serial production of which has already started in the Russian Federation and which are considered the 'pride of the Russian aviation industry', lack 114 types of imported spare parts produced in the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Holland and Ukraine. A similar situation with another 'pride of terrorist state aviation' is' Tu-214 aircraft. There are 71 types of imported spare parts produced in the USA and Great Britain, France and Germany, Ukraine and the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Japan and China for 'boards' of this type.
Even with the maintenance of Soviet-made liners, Russia is unable to cope on its own. Because, for example, to service Tu-154 aircraft before the war, Russia imported 39 items of spare parts from France, the United States, Great Britain, and Ukraine. For maintenance of Tu-134 aircraft they need 9 types of components from the USA and Ukraine.
Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia was unable to independently develop even such sensitive systems for transport and administrative aircraft, as landing systems, lighthouse detectors, smoke detectors, meteorological systems, radar systems, navigation systems. And even coffee makers with microwaves.
