International policy expert Ramis Yunus believes Russia's propaganda machine has been stalled for all 11 months of their war, as it anticipated a completely different turn of events

He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.

“The fact that Russia's information propaganda has been stalled for all these 11 months is visible to the naked eye, because they were actually preparing for a completely different type of intervention. In purely military terms, look even at the Russian equipment and their training, the number of those who attacked a large country of almost 50 million people. Moreover, this adventure was based on the wrong strategy, which was built on disinformation. This disinformation reached the top leadership of Russia and a wrong decision was made. Now tactically they are trying to correct the mistake in this strategy both in terms of information and military, but it is impossible according to all the laws of war. Therefore, they have a situation of zugzwang, which is getting worse and worse. It is also visible in the information field,” the American political scientist commented.

Ramis Yunus noted that all this was evident during the events in the Kharkiv direction, as well as in the Kherson direction, and today the same will be true for Soledar and Bakhmut.

“Well, they took Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, and what did they get after that? Izium, Lyman, Kharkiv, and Kherson - exactly the same will happen here, because the Ukrainian military very competently allowed everyone else to gain time in this strategically unimportant, from the point of view of the military campaign, place, I mean Soledar and Bakhmut. They did what the Ukrainian heroes of Azov did in the Mariupol area, it is comparable in scale. We need to understand this. And let's remember what we got after Mariupol. When you begin to understand all this, you see that the Russians are stalling in all directions, and they sometimes mentioned The Hague for a reason. And manipulation by Russian propagandists with the topic of nuclear weapons is such nonsense and misunderstanding that real politics is done in a completely different way, because there is China, India, the United States. The nuclear issue in the Russian Federation went away because everything was clearly explained to them, and all this propaganda is worth nothing, because it acts on the basis of the instructions that come from above,” Yunus said.

  • Earlier, the Russian Federation announced the alleged capture of Soledar, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff denied this statement and reported that the fighting for the city continues.

  • On January 14, US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said that Russia suffered colossal losses and paid a heavy price for the attacks on the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region.
