Russia will try to capture Avdiivka by year end - Estonian intelligence chief

"I view the confrontation in Avdiivka as very difficult for both sides. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are putting up organized resistance on the echeloned defense line, from a military point of view they are doing their best there," said the Estonian intelligence chief.

According to him, in the coming weeks, the Russian forces will continue their offensive with the current intensity despite the losses.

"They will try to capture Avdiivka by the end of this year. In fact, this city is not of strategic military importance, but it is important from a propaganda point of view," said Kiviselg.

• On October 30, the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, said that the Russian invaders were regrouping near Avdiivka. A new wave of assaults is expected in the coming days.
