Russia will soon set a Guinness World Record for date shifting - Cherevatyi on enemy's "plans" to capture Bakhmut by May 9
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will resist the plans of the Russian military leadership to capture Bakhmut by May 9
This was reported by the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevatyi during a telethon.
"It is undoubtedly a tradition of the Russian authorities to constantly set some achievements by certain dates. However, these traditions are being drastically changed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which do not allow this to happen," Cherevatyi emphasised.
The military noted that the enemy is constantly trying to adjust some of its "victories" to the dates.
"They (the Russians - ed.) will soon set a Guinness World Record for postponing the dates by which they have to take something. Remember, by the end of March they were supposed to take the whole of Donbas, they wanted to take Donetsk and Luhansk regions," said the representative of the Eastern Military Group.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces spokesman reminded that the first dates for the capture of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, were announced in July of that year, and the fighting there has been going on ever since.
"I know that our Defense Forces will do everything to ensure that none of these dates become a reality," said the spokesman.
Cherevatyi added that the enemy has already started counting down to where they will reach while fleeing from Ukrainian troops.
- As a reminder, on May 2, during his visit to the Bakhmut sector, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of the Ukrainian Army, said that the defence operation would continue and that the enemy would not be allowed to advance in the east.
