The chancellor made the statement on Twitter.
The chancellor noted that the atrocities in Bucha, a Kyiv suburb, a year ago showed the whole world what the war waged by Russian leader Vladimir Putin means.
"These images are burned into my memory. These crimes must not go unpunished. That is why we have united around Ukraine. Russia will not win!" Scholz wrote.
