North Korea has joined Russia's war on Ukraine, Zelenskyy states
On October 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to discuss the current situation at the front
He announced this on Telegram.
During the meeting, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the hottest sectors of the front and the situation in the Kursk region.
"I held a regular meeting where Chief Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi provided an update on the operational situation. There are active actions along the entire frontline, but fighting is particularly intense in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors. The Russians have been trying to break through our defenses in the Kursk region for five days, but our forces are holding strong and counterattacking," Zelenskyy wrote.
The intelligence officers provided a detailed analysis of who supports Russia in its war against Ukraine and how to weaken these criminal alliances.
“The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service analyzed who is helping Russia with its aggression against Ukraine - militarily, economically, politically, both openly and secretly. They also discussed the steps we and our partners need to take to weaken these alliances,” the president said.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense reported on contracts and investments from Western partners in the Ukrainian defense industry.
In the evening address, Zelenskyy said that North Korea had actually joined the war against Ukraine.
"I held a meeting where we discussed several issues. A key topic was the report from the intelligence services - both the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine - about Russia's plans for fall and winter. The report detailed North Korea's involvement in the war, as well as Russia's connections with other countries that are unfortunately helping to prolong the war. We also covered our foreign policy direction, including our relations with partners and possible steps to strengthen our defense and achieve results against all odds. I'm grateful to the intelligence service and all the specialists for providing a complete picture. In response, I assigned specific tasks to the Defense Forces, Security Forces, the government, and our diplomats. No matter who supports Russia, we will respond strongly to protect Ukraine. We will also work with our partners to counter Russia's intentions, and I believe we can succeed," the president said.
Additionally, the deputy prime minister Stefanishyna briefed on negotiations in Washington and other capitals regarding the geopolitical aspects of the victory plan. According to Zelenskyy, the victory plan will be publicly presented this week.
The advisor to the president on strategic issues Oleksandr Kamyshyn reported that, as of today, one million drones purchased with public funds have been delivered to the front.
"And this is just what the state is doing. We also have supplies from volunteers and everyone who supports us," Zelenskyy added.
