Zelenskyy announces request to convene NATO-Ukraine Council meeting
On Tuesday, April 16, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would request a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his evening video address.
"We are working to get more real help. In order to achieve true equality in the defense against terror, when the same, truly equal rules apply to us here in Ukraine, in Europe, and in other parts of the world, when we face the same manifestations of terror, the same missile and drone strikes," the president said.
Zelenskyy said he would request a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council.
"Regarding the defense of the sky, the supply of air defense, relevant systems and missiles. We are actively working now to make the first Global Peace Summit in June effective. We are grateful to all the leaders and states who have expressed their willingness to participate in the summit in Switzerland this week. I want to thank Olaf, Mr. Chancellor of Germany, in particular, for his efforts, for his leadership and for the appropriate international communication - for the signals we have heard from Beijing. China can really help restore a just peace for Ukraine and stability in international relations. The summit in Switzerland gives all of us a real chance to make the UN Charter, its goals and principles really work," the video says.
