Zelenskyy: 92 drones targeted Poland, 73 shot down by Ukraine
During Russia’s massive drone attack on Poland, 92 UAVs were headed there and 73 were shot down by Ukrainian forces, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said
He made the remarks at a press briefing in Kyiv on Saturday, September 27, 2025, summing up his U.S. visit and recent developments in European airspace. The briefing was broadcast by Ukrinform.
“Ninety-two drones were flying toward Poland. We shot them all down. Nineteen reached their airspace. Yes, we intercepted them over Ukraine, of course. We can say they were headed for us, but we saw their direction and the ‘choreography’ of their flight. That’s why we believe 92 were launched, 73 downed, 19 reached Poland, and four were shot down by Polish forces,” Zelenskyy explained.
He stressed that Ukraine is not comparing its military capabilities with Poland’s: “We are at war, they are not. No one is comparing.”
At the same time, the president expressed gratitude to Poland for its wartime support and said Ukraine is ready to help train Polish troops in countering Russian drones effectively.
- Russian drones carried out a massive strike on Poland overnight September 9–10 — the first such attack in the country’s modern history.
