Ukraine’s Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported the information.
Energy workers restored power supply following repairs to the 750 kV Dniprovska high-voltage line, while work continues on the 330 kV Ferospavna line.
During the blackout, the safety of Europe’s largest nuclear facility depended solely on emergency diesel generators — posing a serious risk of nuclear and radiation disaster for Ukraine and other European countries.
The month-long outage resulted from ongoing Russian attacks on critical infrastructure. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, energy workers have repaired the lines connecting the plant to Ukraine’s power grid 42 times.
- On October 9, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi announced that external power supply to the Russian-occupied plant from Ukraine’s grid was being restored.
