In response to a question about The Economist's report on the alleged preparation for elections in Ukraine in the summer, Andriy Yermak stated that it was absolute nonsense.
"Absolute nonsense. It's impossible to plan elections while active fighting is ongoing. First, the war must end, and only then can we hold elections," the official emphasized.
- Earlier, The Economist, citing sources in the Ukrainian government, reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is likely planning to hold elections in Ukraine if a complete ceasefire is achieved. This could happen as early as this summer.
- However, later, the Office of the Ukrainian President denied the information about alleged preparations for elections in July 2025. The head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia, emphasized that all parliamentary parties and groups agreed that elections should be held 6 months after the martial law is lifted.
