U.S. doesn't supply drones to Ukraine: White Eagle commander explains why
Valerii Borovyk, commander of White Eagle strike drone unit, says that major U.S. companies cannot supply drones to Ukraine
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“The first drones were copied from Chinese ones. Since 2014, we have taken a different path, but the first combat strike drones were also copied from AeroVironment. These are the Switchblade drones that “captured” the military market after the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq,” Borovyk said.
According to the commander of the White Eagle UAV special unit, the problem of copying and stealing technology has existed for a long time. That is why large American companies cannot supply drones to Ukraine.
“I spoke with the vice president of General Atomics, who has very powerful drones. The Congress forbids them to supply drones to Ukraine because they can be shot down, captured by the Russians and copied. How can you protect yourself from this? Polygraphs, a team, security protection, entering the market, but when you submit this documentation for approval by the Ministry of Defense, unfortunately, there may be moles there. That is, there is a danger everywhere to prevent the technology from being stolen, to prevent someone from passing the technical documentation to the enemy,” Borovyk emphasized.
