Michael Carpenter, representative of the US National Security Council, says that the Russian offensive in the northern Kharkiv region was a failure

He said this in an interview broadcast on the United News telethon.

“Ukraine has stopped Russia, and we hope that Ukraine will continue to use its right, which is clearly in line with the UN Charter, to defend itself,” Carpenter emphasized.

He added that the number of Russian casualties was very high, but they did not achieve any goals.

The Russian army is redeploying forces to strengthen positions near Kharkiv, indicating a possible second phase of the offensive in the region.
