Denmark confirms Ukraine’s permission to strike Russia with transferred weapons

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has stated that Ukraine has the right to use Danish weapons within Russian territory.

The Danish media outlet DR reported this on August 19.

According to Rasmussen, Denmark’s support for Ukraine remains steadfast, “even with Ukraine's ongoing military operation in Russia’s Kursk region”.

“If Ukraine attacks infrastructure or military facilities of the aggressor as part of this operation, it is fully in line with the rules of war,” Rasmussen said.

He stressed that Ukraine should not face restrictions on how it uses the weapons provided by Denmark.

In addition, on August 19, the Danish government announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth about 783 million Danish kroner (116 million US dollars).

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated, "Putin continues his brutal and bloody attacks on Ukrainians. Denmark must remain committed to supporting Ukraine so it can defend itself."

He noted that most of the aid will go towards buying new military equipment through Ukraine’s defense industry and international partners.

The Danish Defense Minister also emphasized that this 20th support package was tailored to Ukraine’s needs and requests. He said it would be valuable both now and in the future.

  • 6 highly mobile engineering excavators;

  • one Bergepanzer 2 armored repair and recovery vehicle with spare parts;

Ukrainian army destroys last bridge in Glushkovsky district of Russia's Kursk region

Ukrainian troops have allegedly destroyed the last bridge on the Seim River in the Glushkovsky district of Russia's Kursk region.

The Russian media Readovka, Russian military bloggers Yury Podolyaka and Vladimir Romanov report.

On the morning of August 19, Russian reports indicated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had destroyed the third and final bridge over the Seim River in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. The destruction of all bridges is expected to disrupt the logistics of Russian troops and halt normal supply routes for their forces stationed in the southern part of the Glushkovsky district.

At the same time, Agence.Novosti emphasizes that as a result of the destruction of the bridge, Ukraine can establish control over almost 700 square kilometers of Russian territory.

Russian battalion in Kursk region left with just 30% battle-ready soldiers

On August 19, agents of the Atesh guerrilla movement reported heavy losses among the personnel of Russia’s 810th Detached Guards Naval Infantry Brigade in the Kursk region.

According to Atesh, a Ukrainian partisan embedded with the Russian military in Kursk reported significant casualties within the 810th Brigade.

“According to the information we have, only 30% of the combat-ready personnel from one of the battalions remain. The rest are either captured, wounded, or killed,” the statement said.

Ukrainian forces destroy modern Russian Kasta-2E2 radar

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a modern Russian Kasta-2E2 radar station in Zaporizhzhia region. This was confirmed by Dmytro Lykhoviy, the spokesman for the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, on Espreso TV.

In particular, he noted that this is a "massive target."

"For yesterday, we confirm the destruction of a ‘very fat target’ - a Kasta-2E2 radar station near the village of Zelenivka, Zaporizhzhia region. It is part of the process of knocking out the Russian air defense and radar system, clearing the sky for our aircraft. And now, after such a significant reduction of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, we confirm the destruction of the modern Kasta-2E2 radar station, which is actually the eyes of the Russian air defense system on a very large section of the frontline," said Lykhoviy.
