Ukraine allocates extra funds to boost domestic missile production

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has assured that more Ukrainian-made missiles will be produced.

He announced this on his Telegram channel.

Ukraine's army chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, provided an update via video link. He is currently on the frontline, closely monitoring the situation.

"Our top priority is improving our own drones and missiles. We need to meet the Defense Forces' needs by the end of the year and manage production effectively. Reports will be presented by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation Mykhailo Fedorov, and Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin," Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that more Ukrainian-made missiles are coming. Additional funding has been allocated to enhance the Ukrainian missile program.

"We will also receive separate reports from intelligence agencies — the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine — on the situation and immediate goals of Russian troops. Additionally, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov will report on the supply of weapons and equipment to new brigades. We are actively collaborating with our partners," Zelenskyy added.

"This decision supports the macro-financial stability of Ukraine and the functioning of its public administration," the statement says.

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal thanked the EU Council for this decision and said that payments are expected in August 2024.

On July 24, EU ambassadors approved another €4.2 billion for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program.

Fire breaks out at Usinsk gas processing plant in Russia

On August 6, a fire broke out at the Usinsk gas processing plant in Komi, Russia.

Russian propaganda outlets RIA Novosti and TASS report.

It is noted that there were allegedly no injuries as a result of the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished.

At the same time, the Baza Telegram channel reports a fire at the Transneft oil refinery in Usinsk, Russia. Employees of the enterprise were evacuated, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Ukrainian forces destroy Russian Zoopark radar

The soldiers of the 14th Separate Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully destroyed a Russian Zoopark radar.

The regiment reported: "Along with the Zoopark radar destroyed by Ukrainian forces, $25 million went up in smoke. This is the cost of the complex. With this amount, they could repair a hundred kilometers of roads near Saratov, supply gas to numerous Siberian villages, or provide thousands of children in Murmansk with a proper education. However, Russia chose to invest their money in a war of aggression."

The crew of the 14th Regiment located the camouflaged radar complex and accurately targeted it.

"The Zoopark radar arrived in Ukraine intending to blend in with the landscape and detect Ukrainian weapons. But only Ukrainian forces are allowed to operate on our land," the regiment added.
