If Russia violates the peace agreement and attacks Ukraine, Kyiv will automatically receive NATO membership.
“Such a provision would be aimed at addressing a key concern for Ukraine and its allies — that Russia would regroup and invade the country again,” American officials say on condition of anonymity.
