Lukashenko says Belarus is ready to help Ukraine rebuild after war
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has said that his country is ready to help Ukraine rebuild after the war, as the US authorities will allegedly ‘not have time for that’
BelTA reports.
Lukashenko believes that the United States will not help Ukraine with post-war reconstruction, because ‘the American authorities will be preoccupied with problems within their country and will not have time for Ukraine.’
‘Therefore, the leadership of Ukraine needs to get their heads in their hands and realize that they will have to rebuild the country first. With the help of people close to them, especially Belarusians,’ the self-proclaimed president said.
According to Lukashenko, ‘currently, the top leadership of Ukraine is run by Americans. And if something needs to be resolved, Zelenskyy immediately flies to Washington.’ He reproached the Ukrainian president for not travelling to Minsk or Moscow ‘to finally end this war’.
In addition, the Belarusian leader commented on possible participation in the war against Ukraine and noted that ‘his main task is to prevent Belarus from being drawn into this war’.
‘Don't worry, we are not going to fight the Ukrainians. And they don't want to fight with us: where else would they want this ‘burden’? And why should we? Our people live there. We will do everything to coexist peacefully with Ukraine. If they want it,’ BelTA quoted Lukashenko as saying.
- Earlier, Lukashenko said that Belarus should strengthen its defence capabilities and readiness to confront the enemy in the event of military aggression.
