Unmanned systems outperform artillery on battlefield - Ukraine's General Staff
Ukrainian Armed Forces Deputy Commander-in-Chief Andriy Lebedenko says that unmanned systems already outperform classical weapons, including artillery, on the battlefield
He made this statement during the Precision hackathon focused on unmanned systems, as reported by the Ukrainian General Staff.
Lebedenko highlighted that significant technological advancements have occurred on the battlefield over the past three years. The Armed Forces require continuous enhancement of unmanned systems, including machine vision, artificial intelligence elements, drone swarms, and modern electronic warfare tools.
He remarked that unmanned systems "are already more effective than classical weapons, including artillery."
According to the General Staff, the priority for the Armed Forces and weapons manufacturers lies in technological advancements. This includes interceptors, artillery fire adjustment systems, counter-battery combat, and unmanned systems capable of operating effectively at operational and strategic depths.
"Today, the commander-in-chief has set the task of comprehensively deploying robotic complexes and UAVs on the battlefield. For instance, replacing the platoon support point with technological systems while keeping personnel out of the danger zone. This technological edge could enable us to win," added Andriy Lebedenko.
