Under heavy fire: Ukrainian officer on situation in Marinka sector

Serhiy Voronov, a Legion of Freedom officer from the Marinka sector, noted that the Russian army is trying to find weaknesses in the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

He said this on the Espreso TV channel.

"It is difficult to see a direction on the frontline map today that is not hot. In particular, the Marinka direction is also under heavy fire and constant enemy attacks. Ukrainian soldiers are bravely resisting this pressure. We all watched how the enemy entered Krasnohorivka the day before, but was driven out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This village is now controlled by Ukraine," said Voronov.

According to the Legion of Freedom officer, the Russian army is trying to find weaknesses in all sections of the eastern front to make a breakthrough in the Ukrainian defense.

"Along the entire frontline, the enemy is trying to find gaps in our defense in small groups. South of Marinka is the Vuhledar direction, which is strategically important for the enemy. Currently, there is no breakthrough by the occupiers there, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding their positions firmly," emphasized Voronov.

• Over the past day, Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in 7 sectors, most notably in Novopavlivka. In addition, they neutralized 920 Russian soldiers.
• The head of the Kupyansk town military administration, Andriy Besedin, said that Russian tactics in the Kupyansk sector have not changed. 
• Vladyslav Selezniov, a military expert, colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2014-2017), believes that Russian enemy will try to capture Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi railway station in the near future.
