Ukroboronprom, Rheinmetall to create joint venture for artillery shell production

The relevant document was signed on May 13 in Madrid, according to the press service of Ukroboronprom.

The parties intend to cooperate based on future separate contracts to create production facilities for manufacturing artillery ammunition on Ukrainian territory.

"The full-scale war has proven that the demand for artillery shells is enormous, and the existing capabilities of enterprises are insufficient to fully meet this demand. Therefore, every new ammunition plant, every new production line is critically important for ensuring the army's needs. We must use all opportunities to create such capacities," said the CEO of the company, Oleh Huliak.

The press service reminded that in June 2024, the first workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles of the first joint venture between Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall began operations.

• In March, the Rheinmetall announced that it was ready to equip a peacekeeping mission that might be deployed in Ukraine after the end of the full-scale war.
