The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this on January 19.

"The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. The Russian army is actively using aviation and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles," the General Staff wrote.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult. Over the last day, 87 combat engagements took place. The Russian forces launched a missile strike, 16 airstrikes, and 43 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

There are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

In the Marinka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invading army in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. In this direction, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation 6 times without success. About 6 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, the Russian army shelled the regional center of Kherson region and the areas of Antonivka, Berehove, and Ochakiv.

"The enemy does not abandon its intention to drive our units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, the Russian forces made nine unsuccessful assaults on the positions of our troops," the General Staff added.
