Ukrainian troops make gains in Kupiansk while Pokrovsk holds steady — Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the situation in Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, Myrnohrad, and Huliaipole is under the Ukrainian forces' control
The president wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
According to Zelenskyy, the situation in Pokrovsk remains generally unchanged. However, the number of Russian military personnel directly inside the city is changing. Currently, according to Ukrainian forces' estimates, about 1,100 Russian military personnel are inside Pokrovsk. Ukrainian units are holding their positions and engaging in combat with enemy forces that have entered the city.
"The situation over the past month has been unchanged, the only difference is in the number of people inside Pokrovsk," Zelenskyy noted.
In Myrnohrad, according to him, the Russian army is exerting significant pressure, but Ukrainian military forces continue to hold their positions.
Meanwhile, in Kupiansk, Ukraine's Defense Forces have tactical advancement. Ukrainian units have advanced approximately half a kilometer, and clearing operations are ongoing. The president emphasized that Kupiansk is currently under Ukraine's control.
According to military estimates, between 80 and 100 Russian military personnel may remain in the city.
"There aren't many of them left there, and this is temporary," Zelenskyy stressed.
Regarding Huliaipole, the president reported that the situation there has not changed over the past week. After a difficult period, the situation in this direction has now stabilized.
