The press service of the General Staff reported the information.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are also conducting counteroffensive actions.

"As a result of successful actions by Ukrainian soldiers, the settlement of Andriivka has been liberated. In addition, our units have advanced in the area of Oleksiivka, pushing the enemy further away from Sumy," the statement says.

Russia has concentrated up to 50,000 troops in the region, including elite units, but their activity has been stopped. Russian troops from this group have not been able to be redeployed to other threatening directions, particularly Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka.

The enemy is suffering significant losses: in June alone—over 9,300 soldiers (of which more than 4,470 are irrecoverable), and 423 pieces of equipment.

Ukrainian forces are striking targets up to 100 km deep, hitting enemy depots, command posts, and logistical infrastructure, including on Russian territory. The total losses of the enemy since the start of the Kursk operation (August 2024) exceed 75,860 personnel and nearly 3,000 pieces of equipment.

  • On June 17, DeepState analyzed the situation with fortifications in the Sumy region and concluded that they essentially do not exist. The constructed structures turned out to be mostly symbolic: trenches and underground posts, sometimes covered with nets against FPV drones, but lacking proper engineering barriers.

  • On June 18, the head of the public relations group of the Territorial Defense Forces Command, Taras Berezovets, noted that the Sumy region is constantly under heavy enemy fire, which hinders the construction of engineering and fortification structures.
