Ukrainian missile forces attack Russian command post, ammo depot — General Staff

The General Staff's evening report for January 10 says.

During the day, Russia launched 2 missile and 29 air strikes, fired 19 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

"Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential and apartment buildings, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged," the General Staff emphasises.

Situation along main frontline areas

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Russia maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from its territory, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Russia carried out air strikes near Vilcha and Vilkhuvatka in Kharkiv region. More than 30 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops. Russia also launched an air strike near Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks east of Terny and Vesele in Donetsk region, where the Russian enemy was trying to improve its tactical position. Russia also launched an air strike in the area of Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region. More than 15 settlements suffered from Russian artillery and mortar attacks in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian army repelled a Russian attack near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Sieverne and 10 more attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region. Russian forces tried to improve the tactical situation here to no avail. About 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back Russian enemy near Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, where Russia tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 7 times and carried out over 20 air strikes in the area of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. Such settlements of the Donetsk region as Heorhiivka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka and Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. Russian troops shelled more than 10 localities with artillery and mortars in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks near Robotyne and west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region, where Russian forces tried to regain lost ground to no avail. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, the city of Kherson region came under Russian artillery fire. Russian forces also fired from multiple launch rocket systems near the settlements of Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Krynky, Kizomys in the Kherson region. 

"The Russian enemy does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 10 unsuccessful assault operations, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on Russian enemy," the General Staff said.

Ukrainian military strikes against Russian troops

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated. Air defense forces also destroyed an Kh-59 guided missile.

Missile troops struck an area where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, and targeted a Russian electronic warfare (EW) station.
