Ukrainian military withdraws from Zenit position in Avdiivka, says commander Tarnavskyi

On February 16, the operational and strategic troop group Tavria"decided to pull back Ukrainian forces from the Zenit position on the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka in Donetsk region

This was announced by Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group of troops.

"After months of confrontation, the command decided to withdraw from the Zenit position near Avdiivka. We maintained this position to effectively deter and eliminate the enemy," he stated.

Tarnavskyi clarified that the decision aims to "safeguard personnel and enhance the operational situation." He stressed that the Russians wouldn't gain a strategic advantage by occupying these positions, and it wouldn't impact the ongoing Avdiivka defense operation.

"Currently, troop regrouping, resupply efforts, and deployment in new positions are underway. There's a planned reinforcement of units," Tarnavskyi added.
