Ukrainian military: Russia usually deploys regiments in Kurakhove sector
Nazar Voitenkov, Ukraine's 33rd Brigade acting press officer, commented on the situation and Russian attacks in the Kurakhove sector
He talked about this on Espreso TV.
"The Russians have learned to attack from the flanks, which is a dangerous tactic. We need to stay alert and monitor this in our area. While we are facing challenges with their advances, we are maintaining a 360-degree defense to prevent them from surprising us from behind. We are striking them wherever we can, monitoring the battlefield 24/7.
They usually attack us with regiments and have specialized assault and mechanized companies. Russian forces have enough equipment to maneuver in both open areas and spots where they can hide, like between buildings or in fields," the acting press officer said.
Nazar Voitenkov emphasized that the Russians are constantly looking for weaknesses and trying to exploit them.
"They adapt to the conditions of their aggressive operations against us. Where they can move in small groups, they do, and they avoid large clusters because that’s too risky for them. They often send a lot of troops in vehicles where they can’t move on foot. They try to storm our positions repeatedly, searching for weaknesses. When I say 'us,' I mean not just the 33rd Brigade, but also the neighboring units holding the line in the Kurakhove direction. Depending on the weaknesses they find, they might launch large-scale assaults until they finally break through. However, we haven't seen any advances; our brigade is holding strong and preventing the Russians from getting closer," he explained.
