Shelling of Chasiv Yar intensifies, civilians targeted – City Military Administration head
Serhiy Chaus, head of the Chasiv Yar City Military Administration, stated that while it's still possible to leave Chasiv Yar, it is becoming increasingly difficult and dangerous with each passing hour
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation in Chasiv Yar remains unchanged—shelling continues, evacuations are ongoing, and tragically, people are still dying and getting injured. The situation mirrors that on the front lines. In recent days, artillery shelling has intensified. For instance, yesterday, on October 13, the enemy targeted civilians. It's clear the city is being observed by drones, as strikes occur near gatherings of civilians. First come the drones, then artillery, resulting in deaths and injuries. When the Russians claim they only target military and critical infrastructure, it's a complete lie. They are deliberately targeting civilians, using drones against them," said Chaus.
According to him, the goal of Russian soldiers is to kill as many people as possible.
"Currently, around 400 people remain in Chasiv Yar. While it's still possible to leave, with each passing hour—not even a full day—it becomes more difficult and dangerous, as the shelling intensifies in a chaotic manner. It's impossible to predict how to act in certain situations. There are areas we could once safely drive through, but now it has become far more dangerous," said the head of the Chasiv Yar City Military Administration.
- On October 12, the OSINT portal DeepState reported that Russian troops are expending significant resources and persistently attacking Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region: "The continuous assaults by the Russians, if they bring in reserves, will make the situation extremely complicated."
