Ukrainian intelligence names number of Russian ground forces on Ukrainian territory
As of January 2024, 462 thousand Russian soldiers are fighting on Ukrainian territory. Russia has concentrated all the resources of its ground forces in Ukraine
The Deputy Chief of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Vadym Skibitsky said this, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, the ground grouping of Russian troops currently on the territory of Ukraine numbers 462,000 people, with Russian units manning 92-95%. In addition, 35 thousand Russian Guard representatives are operating in the temporarily occupied territories.
He also emphasized that there were times when the manning dropped to 89-90%, but by continuing to mobilize, Russia manages to maintain this group at this level.
"Our estimate is very simple: today, Russia does not have the capacity to conduct strategic land offensive operations against other countries. Because the entire resource of the land component is now targeted and located on our territory," Skibitsky said.
- Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian defense forces have eliminated at least 366 thousand Russian soldiers.
