Ukrainian forces monitor all Russian attempts to cross Oskil River — Ukraine's 48th Brigade
Bohdan Petrenko, spokesperson for the 48th Separate Artillery Brigade, says that the Russian forces are constantly trying to transfer small infantry groups to the western bank of the Oskil River
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Today, we can say that the logistics are particularly difficult for the Russians. They need to transport both equipment and personnel across the Oskil River, especially to the western bank. They even have to move their small infantry groups. These attempts by Russian occupiers to move their equipment and personnel across the Oskil River are fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, even if they manage to carry out isolated crossings of infantry groups, they will not be able to make significant changes in this area," said Petrenko.
The serviceman emphasized that without a significant amount of equipment, the Russians will not be able to expand their foothold around the Oskil River. According to him, such accumulation of equipment is not observed today.
"Russians are indeed trying to expand their foothold around the Oskil River. Their goal is to push back the Ukrainian Defense Forces and reduce the ability of our units to launch counterattacks. However, I emphasize again that without a large amount of equipment, these Russian plans will be unachievable," he concluded.
- On May 7, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that 171 combat engagements took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front on May 6. Most of the attacks - 77 - were carried out by the Russians in the Pokrovsk sector.
