Ukrainian forces strike oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region

Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.

“Explosions and a fire were reported in the area of the facility. The results of the strike are being clarified,” the agency said.

The Saratov oil refinery specializes in producing gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, as well as various types of bitumen, vacuum gas oil, technical sulfur, and other petroleum products — a total of over 20 types.

In 2023, the refinery processed 4.8 million tons of crude oil.

The enterprise is involved in supplying the needs of the Russian armed forces.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces consistently take measures aimed at undermining Russia's military-economic potential, in particular its ability to supply occupying forces with fuel, ammunition, and weapons, as well as to halt armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff stated.
