Ukrainian forces may launch large-scale offensives — military expert
Ukraine's Defense Forces have proven experience in counteroffensive operations and can shift from local strikes to large-scale offensives, especially after their successful Kupiansk operation, which stopped Russia from creating a foothold to push deeper into the country
Military expert and co-chair of the Civil Initiative Prava Sprava Dmytro Sniehyriov stated this on Espreso TV.
"It's worth noting that Ukraine's Defense Forces have a positive track record of conducting counteroffensive operations throughout the entire period of the full-scale invasion," Sniehyriov noted.
According to the military expert, when discussing successful counteroffensive operations by Ukraine's Defense Forces during December-January—that is, over the past two months—the operation in the Kupiansk area has been successful: the liberation of Kupiansk itself and preventing the establishment of a bridgehead for capturing Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and the Russian army's further advancement deep into Ukrainian territory.
"Therefore, we can say that Ukraine's Defense Forces can transition from local offensive operations to large-scale offensive operations, as was the case during the liberation of the Kharkiv region," Sniehyriov emphasized.
On Monday, January 19, 79 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with the Russian forces conducting 28 assaults in the Pokrovsk direction.
