Ukrainian forces eliminate Russian saboteur group moving through underground tunnel near Sudzha
In the Kursk region, Russians attempted to infiltrate Ukrainian-controlled territory using underground passages. However, Ukrainian paratroopers set up an ambush and eliminated the enemy group
Ukrainian Armed Forces officer and volunteer Myroslav Hai reported the information.
According to him, the command of a Ukrainian airborne assault brigade had prior intelligence about the enemy’s plan to use the underground gas pipeline communications of the Progress mainline for sabotage operations in the Sudzha district.
"The enemy attempted to replicate the Avdiivka operation scenario, using engineering structures to penetrate Ukrainian-controlled territory. However, our paratroopers acted preemptively," Hai wrote.
Ukrainian forces set up an ambush, waiting for the enemy to emerge from the tunnel and gather near the exit.
"At the decisive moment, the tunnel exit was collapsed, preventing the enemy group from escaping. The next step was elimination—around 80% of the enemy personnel were neutralized," Hai added.
He noted that objective control and radio intercepts confirmed panic among enemy forces, as Russian soldiers complained that they had been sent to certain death.
- Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian defenders have neutralized nearly 884,000 Russian troops, along with over 10,000 enemy tanks and 24,000 artillery systems.
